you could try emailing the guy first and see what he says about them, like if he is claimin that he bred these or not
i dont have the craigslist emailing thing
i only have yahoo
and he left no contact info

you don't need the craigslist email thing, just highlight the address that it gives for his contact and then right click, copy, and then paste it in an email through yahoo, i've done it a bunch of times

I had 8 rbp's in a 150 uk gallon tank 32 years ago. All the books said "never bred in captivity" Mine bred and 4 of the fry were raised in the tank with the adults. The moral' Never say never!

i emailed that craigslist guy here is the convo

MY EMAIL TO HIM ---

I will give you $50 per fish for the juvis and $300 for the adult. i am willing to pick up asap. i am 100% serious too. i currently stock over 20 piranha's right now and i currently have 6 piraya between 8-13 in. i just have a few questions. do you have the mother? were the babies tank bred? are you willing to stank by your sale 6 months down the road when it is 100% evident that they are indeed piraya bc there is no way to tell the juvis apart from red bellies untill they get color. also did you breed these? if you don't like my offer please by all means please counter. i will pay cash too. thanks, phil

here is the one he sent back --

Im sorry i sold all the fish to aquarium adventure in Hoffman Estates. They'll probably sell them to customers mabey? I got 1 6-7 inch red belly piranha for sale. Hes in healthy shape. If you want it make me an offer. Also i did breed the Piraya babies. I have their mother but shes not for sale sorry. Thanks

yea right

he also sent me this --

"Ill let you know when i have more baby pirayas. Sound good? I'll keep your email so we can get in touch. Thanks"

i replied this

"mike do you realize that you accomplished something that people who have been keeping pirayas for years have not been able to do. i am HUGE into piranhas and i know some of the most expiereced researchers and pet store owners and importers of piranhas and NONE of them have done this. you have to come forward if you truly accomplished it and can do it again you will be a millionaire!!!! let me know when you are going to breed them. i am not sure why you sold the father a proven pair of breeding pirayas would be worth thousands not just $500 a fish. please let me know if you can replicate it"

he just emailed this to me "I never sold the father. Hes still with the mother. I know that these are expensive fish but their babies and ill always have more in the future. I have 12 adult Pirayas in my 210g fish tank. I have 3 females that i know of and the rest i think are males. I been into Piranhas since i was 9 years old and i love them to death. Ill let you know if your still interested in my next breed. =)"

he has a pretty easy-going attitude for someone who supposedly just became the first person to accomplish breeding piraya for the first time in the home aquarium, haha. i highly doubt that 12 adult piraya in a 210 gallon tank would be comfortable enough to breed, they would really be crammed in there. i'll be the first to admit it if i'm wrong, but right now my opinion is that this dude is trying to make a **** load of money off of some baby reds.

pics of the actual breeding or pics of 12 adult piraya in a 210?
