I watch the 'pet' and 'free' sections of craigslist daily. I've bought and sold on there with no problems, but there are always the occasional scammer/spammer. I don't respond to any emails I get that have links, and only reply to personal emails. I've never gotten a virus or anything, it's usually just spam.

I bought my 55 gallon with hood/light and metal stand used for $75 on Craigslist. 60 gallons tall will never sell for $375, unless you find some un-knowledgeable consumer. I always see convicts and OB peacocks on there-

you probably won't even sell that if you had an fx5 running it.

there's no way anyone would buy that even if you just had it for a month. i'd rather go into a store and buy everything brand new. just being honest

i bought a 110g tank and stand for $200 and a 180g tank and stand for $300.

i tried selling a 90g long (tank and stand) for $50. I'm in the IE, so no one from LA/OC area was even willing to drive out to get it. wasn't even worth the trip for them
 
you can get a 55 tank for $100 brand new. If you want people to buy your stuff, you need to make it desirable. ~$375 for a tank that is worth $100 new means no one will buy.

If they are going to pay retail, it won't be for your used stuff. So, take the retail price, cut it in half, and there is a good starting point. Older obviously is worth less. Chances are you will get a nibble around the 150 range.

Doubtful anyone wants convict fry, but maybe you get lucky with that.

I traded my cons for some other cichlids and the tank i just gonna sell to my lfs store they said they would take so.

I'd take it. If you don't have the parts (filters, powerhead, etc) you need to complete the tank, just e-mail people that are selling their tank and ask if they're willing to part with their equipment for a price that fits in your buggest. Assure them they can still sell their tank for the same price and they'll most likely do it. I've gotten a couple of filters that way instead of paying store retail price
 
I also get spammed like crazy when I post something on CL, also I get things in regards to thing I did not even post...cars, tv's, ect. Just ignore them.
