Crap ICK

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think u right lol. That makes more sense.

I added a medicine also. Finally got a stock I love and don't want them dying. ? It says to remove the carbon so it doesn't mess up the treatment. My filter media is a month old so the carbon shouldn't affect the treatment right? Because usually carbon wears out in a couple weeks I thought. I don't want to pull the filter media because of the good bb it has. My filteration is 3 emperor 400's on a 125g

Also I added feeders yesterday not sure if that would be the cause of the ICK? Only the two GT's have it the other fish are fine

Day two. Still only the GT's that show spots :) don't think it will get to the other fish. Other treatment is going in tomorrow. Friday I will do a large wc and some salt. I Should be in the clear by Friday. Keeping temps up for another week and wc every other day.

That's good. When I had an outbreak only 1 or 2 of my fish had it out of like 8. Keep it up for 2 weeks minimum! People that have sensitive fish to high heat I know that just treat with salt. Worked for them.

You really don't need meds to treat ick. Just heat (84) and salt like everyone said and continue treatment at least 1 week after you don't see spots. I've had ick a few times with clown loaches. They all made it, even had a group of 1.5" baby loaches make it, no meds.

I hear ya. I usually don't use meds. I spent a lot of time going to different stores for my current stock of fish so I'm just making sure I cure it quick.
