Well I have a 55g w/ an a. robertsoni, HRP, and t. ellioti. The robertsoni started getting really aggressive w/ the ellioti, so I swaped the meeki w/ the ellioti (the ellioti is in a 25g by himself). The robertsoni has gotten really dark in color (looks like breeding colors). They have both been attacking the HRP together, and I move the HRP to my 10g for the moment. The water temp has been difficult to control and is in the 80's F range.
Does this sound like they are going to breed?

Anyone? Do you think it is possible they will spawn? I'm not a fan of hybrids. Can I stop them by lowering the temp at the next water change?

if you don't like hybrids, you can always just destroy any eggs or fry . . . that's what I do with my carpintis/convict pair . . .

If you lower the water temperature it should stop the firemouth from breeding, i have a tank of just firemouths and they respond to temperature change quite well, try lowering the temperature and feed them slightly less, they will think its winter and will not spawn as it is not sufficient for fry....good luck hope it works out for you

Thanks. I am hoping to reduce over all aggression w/ the FM. The FM has been very aggressive to the larger robertsoni. Are FMs usually aggreesive to their mates?
