Crawdad Care

Hello guys, My sister wants to keep a crawdad in a 17 gallon aquarium. We would catch a crawdad in local creeks. I was just wondering how to take care of a crawdad.

She would like to stock the tank with 7 White Cloud Mountain Minnows, and 2 Gold Barbs along with the Craw. I was wondering if anybody has any advise for me. Thanks in advance!

Don't have much experience with them, I wanted to get one but LFS guy told me that he will eat fish, so fish as tank mates might not be a wise choice.

You can find some basic care guides online, seems to be similar to fish care, just need sinking pellets as food.

Yeah. Thanks for responding. I think you could get fast moving fish and put them in their. Gold barbs are probably pushing it, but I'll figure it out. Also, do you need to cycle the water? Does anyone know?

You may introduce unwanted pest collecting water from the creek.

Ok. Its a runoff creek, so not the cleanest! after my 55's done cycling, I will jump start the filter in the 17.

Even fast fish sleep, this would be the time the crawdad has the advantage.

ahhh. Your right. So just a crawdad? I've read that you can put fish in with crawdads, though
