Cray safe ich medicine?

Next time use heat & salt like the others said. It's a lot safer and easier. I quarrantine new fish in 1 of my 7 Cray tanks and automatically salt that tank (2 TBS/5 g) for 2 wks and turn the temp up to 87 or so. My Crays do great with it, they've all been through it time and again. I've got a C.quad also, he did fine with it, too :-)

I would definitely do multiple WC's before replacing the cray into the tank. It dosen't hurt your cray to have to be in the 5g tank--sounds like a nice vacation for your cray! Airstone and everything going on!!

Twisted: Cherax species do need heated water to do well over their lifetimes. What other species of crays do you have? I am just curious as such high temps would be detrimental to most North American crays and have some effects on them.

I've got a C.quad,2 C.Peknyis & a C.destructor who's tanks stay between 78-80. I've got several P.clarkii (and now tons of baby clarkiis!) and their tanks are just room temp-75 or so. I alternate cray tanks when I quarantine a new fish so it's only like every 3 mo or so that the temps are up to 87. And by taking turns with the cray tanks each P.clarkii only gets 10 days of 87 degrees like every 8 or 9 months. So it ends up seldom and short term.
