My marble cray just bred and I'm about to have more babies than I know what to do with. Anybody feed these to their fish? Anything I should know about feeding these to my fish? They don't sound like the easiest thing to digest.

Lots of people feed these to their Cichlids. Some cichlids eat these in the wild. It depends what kinda cihclid you have, but if the fish is big enough and the cray fish is the right size the fish will have no problem eating it.

Yeah, just use common sense.

Red devils, P Bass etc, will all probably wolf them down.

Discus and angels... possibly not.

Personally i'd "de-claw" them, just in case.

took the words right outta my mouth. they will be great food source especially since you know where they came from. if they arent eaten right away dont worry. when they molt they are history. you will wonder why are your fish are hovering near a rock or cave bu t they are waiting for the slightest hint he is there so they can feast.:ROFL:good luck. if you have any extras send me some:D my tank loves them;)

Gasp! I have a red crawfish and think he is the bees knees! Now while the other one I had became lunch for my fish a few days ago this one (the smart one) has been doing fine.

To answer the question though, a lot of cichlids relish these (especially oscars). If they can fit in their mouth they will often swallow it whole. If not they will take bites.

Crawfish are good at cleaning the bottom of the tank of excess food too!

What is the purpose of declawing? Crawfish typically attack slow and dying fish. Not very good at stopping healthy fish.
