When they molt how do you protect them from the other crayfish attacking them?

I personally would not put them together. Crayfish will eat whatever can find/catch. Since loaches are bottom feeders, there is a very good chance for the crayfish to sneak up on your loaches.

No, I have no loaches, I only have crayfish in with them, no other fish. I just want to know how to do protect them from OTHER crayfish eating them? Not sure where you got loaches from.

Oh ok! sorry... I guess I had loaches in my mind. If you provide a bunch of hiding place and keep them well fed, I think you should be fine.

lol That's okay. Oh they are well fed and have lots of hiding spots. Thanks.

Theres no way to protect your cray while molting besides moving it to a different tank. Most baby crays end up snacks by the parents/siblings in an aquarium setting. You have to remove the cray in question..or the babies...they will eat anything they can catch including other crays...

Thanks, I will set up my 10 gallon then and just use that for molting. I have one now molting in a 5 gallon, I removed it. It looks dead.

They will look dead for about 15min when they molt. I had 2 in my 80gal and they always fought. Theres no place to get away and hide from another cray in a tank. Just keep 1 and give him a flat rock lifted 1/2in to go under for safety from fishes.

Molting takes alot out of the cray, make sure to leave the molt in the tank for it to consume and replace some lost nutrients. :)
