I am searching one apricot crayfish Cherax holthuisi, more difficult in Europe. I'd like to get this future guide about crayfishes. What happened with crayfish forum? I sent one picture for a ID crab, is the only thread that doesn't obtain answer. Why? Where is crayfish lovers?

Try searching in Germany. For whatever reason, my people seem fairly crayfish obsessed lol. But occasionally, I pay the international shipping from a few of the stores there because they import really wild crays, shrimp, aegla and crab. Cherax holthuisi is a staple import for them (along with Hoas, Blue Moons and for some reason the two natives from Cuba, which are just plain brown crays... >_<) and the shipping should be a lot more reasonable to you.

And they come and go, it seems. They'll be back, the forums always revive themselves, it just takes a while sometimes. There's a few of them out there, keep trying, one of them is bound to be active.

u still havnt checked out my build

Yea, with the exception of Rusty Crays (there might be a few others), the Orconectes group will mate in captivity but the female won't berry and produce offspring. They, theoretically, need a chiller and specialized lighting cycles in the tank to trigger the seasonal changes to induce berrying. I remember a few people from another forum were talking about moving tanks outdoors to see if they could induce the berrying without aid of a chiller and creating simulated lighting cycles but I don't think they ever posted results to that.

Oooo... O. logedigitus! I've looking for those forever, you're lucky! Those are awesome looking crayfish! And P. acutus, I have here, too. They're really cool, I like looking for the color variants in the wild... they have some pretty wild stray color genes. ^_^
I love the strays with wild colors also .....I was watching what looked to be a 1 inch albino cray (couldnt tell by my Mo DNR handbook what kind) at a creek when a bullhead dashed out from under a rock and ate it.....no wonder theyre so hard to find in the wild!

Keep an eye on these two, they get new stock in fairly regularly and update their sites:

-cambarellus.com/index.htm

-1a-wirbellose.de

They don't have much right now, but as the seasons change, they'll have more.
