I just picked up about 7 small crayfish( crawdads, crawfish...) today and i really would like to know if any one has successfully quarantined them. i have read and heard a lot of things but not anything definite. they are in a 10 gallon and i want to add ghost shrimp and maybe snails so that the tank will provide a good food source for my oscars. the crayfish came from a small run off from the pond near my house. can salt be used? the anti-parasite tablets i got said they weren't safe to use on crustaceans. any advice would be helpful.

If the anti parasite tablets contain copper then no they cant be used, and i wouldnt recomend the use of even tonic salt, depending on their size, species and sex they might kill the ghost shrimp.

is there no other way to make sure they won't harm my fish? since they came out of the wild?
