crazing and bowing, risk of rupture?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
^ hmmm i want to do some research on this and hear more, but its late and im about to sleep...

But where and what sort of radition is coming from the pumps? And by pumps you mean Air Pumps?

Air pumps and power pumps both produce EMF electromagnetic radiation. So do x-rays, gamma rays, MRI'S, cell towers, power lines, microwave ovens, inverters, generators, any power plugs with an ac/dc converter box, smart meters, and to a smaller degree-cell phones, wifi, computers, laptops, TV screens, electric shavers, hair dryers, electric blankets, radios, electric wiring...

The amount of EMF coming off aquarium pumps is extremely high. 3-4 milligaus range starts affecting humans biologically. Aquarium pumps produce well over 100+ milligauss when standing next to them. If you step back 3 feet the EMF drops off to around 6. Stand about 5-6 feet away from the aquarium and the levels are 0.5. It was completely incidental that I found this out while walking around my house testing radiation levels. I had no idea the aquarium pumps would produce more radiation than our microvawe and smart meter.

There' are a lot of studies on EMF, some showing a lot of negative effects and others inconclusive. There have been medical studies on children living close to power lines developing leukemia when the levels are at 4 or higher. Lots of studies on EMF causing cancer, endocrine disruption, fertility problems.

Kinda off topic but now I see and understand some folks refer to live in country side or somewhere completely off world without power nor any kind of modern technologies like some places in Japan :P those folks do live for a long live.

Yuki- yes, everything modern seems to cause cancer and disease :(

Hi Aldiaz33. Tank is holding up great.

I have no plans to purchase a new tank at this point. We had some financial setbacks and had to put off purchasing a new tank. Now I am not so certain it is a danger. I contacted 4 major tank manufacturers, 3 of which wanted to sell me a tank that is the same thickness acrylic or thinner. I don't trust that a new tank would not also bow and craze. We don't sit directly in front of the tank.

I actually worry more about radiation from the pumps/jets. I purchased a trifield radiation meter because we recently had a smart meter and solar inverters mounted right outside our bedroom where we sleep at night and the magnetic radiation levels concerned me. I found out the aquariums produce a lot more radiation than the solar inverters and smart meter. I should make a video to show how bad it is. It is good to stand 3+ feet back from your aquarium pumps to avoid radiation.

I would be petrified of a leak or massive failure of the tank, especially if in a tight financial situation. That amount of water damage and cleanup will not be cheap.

Just my opinion though, to each their own. Really hope everything stays put for ya, but just felt I had to give my input.

Thank you. :)

Glad to hear everything with the tank is ok. I'm not surprised to hear that some builders wanted to use the same thickness.

In regards to the radiation, I'm convinced that one day we are going to figure out what is causing so many people to die from all these terrible diseases (cancer, etc) and we're going to think how stupid we were.

Sorry to hear about your issues. It's touching that you are doing this for your disabled son. I wish there was some way I could help.

Having said that, my personal opinion is that I would not keep this aquarium in my home.

Bump. I own two of these tanks with the same dimensions. One is made by tenecor as well. The tenecor tank bows like crazy. I would say very similar to the bow your having. Just curious if you have an update on this?

Hi Lepisosteus. The tank is doing great, no changes in the seams, no leaks.
