Crazy Clown Knife Diet

I have two CKs. One is about 6.5", the other 4.5". When I got them a few weeks ago they were just eating feeder guppies and krill. I have made both of those available to them, though not on a daily basis. They live in a community tank and have started eating EVERYTHING I put inthere for the other fish.
Peas, Hikari Sinking Wafers, Hikari Sinking Carnivore Pellets, Algae Wafers, Spirulina Discs..... EVERYTHING.
I have kept them before and never seen them eat any nonmeat items. Anyone else?

yup. My CK steals broken up algae thins from my ID's

Yes, mine eats only carnivore tablets and algae wafers, way before the pleco can get to them!

Strange. Are they omnivorous in the wild too? All the literature lists them as voracious carnivores. I guess just like some herbivores will eat meat if it is an easy meal, some carnivores will eat veg if it's right in front of their mouths.

maybe. The kind of foods it had when young could have affected it's diet.

Just weird cause some animals digestive systems are so specialized that they cannot digest a wide array of foods. This is typically more common with carnivores and herbivores, less so with omnivores. I [wrongly] assumed that the CK was a ~strict carnv. Now I know better........ and knowing is half the battle.

Well, I think i just dropped my brain's transmission. My piranhas just voraciously ate some zucchini. They've eaten peas before, but they fought over the zucchini and ignored tilapia at same time.

algae pellets and such are not the same as eating veggies and such raw.

its like feeding cows grinded up cow- pellets. they just dont know any better

Yup...once they see what other fish are eating, they'll eat too.
