Crazy Craigslisters.....Hard to believe

So heres a crazy CL experience i had this weekend.... I purchased a 125 tank from some guy off of CL. (with a smashed bottom for 50 bucks)

Went back and forth with email over two weeks. Emailed him yesterday and he says come today and get the tank. Ok, so i get the address, go there, and when i pull in the driveway there are two children outside. A boy about 7 and a girl about 10 (and the tank is in the bed of a p/u truck)

I say "is your dad home?" The girl says "yea he's on the computer right now" So, i chit chat with these kids about fish they are getting and other stuff...and still no dad coming out of the house. (about 5 minutes pass) So i say, "is your dad coming out?"... and the girl says "no". I ask (jokingly) "should i give you the money?"..and she says "yes".

So, i give her the cash, get the tank and load it into my van. (Still no dad or any other adult visible!) At this point I was looking up at the windows of the house to see if someone was at least keeping an eye out....Nothing! The boy even did try to help me load it.

So i said bye and left. (in amazement!)

So... this guy sent his YOUNG KIDS out to make a sale in the driveway with some unknown buyer from CL!!!! WTF? Unbelievable!
 
Wow...I can't imagine sending my kids out like that!

On the other hand, maybe the 10 year-old girl is really an MFK'er and she was the one that sold you the tank. I'll bet her Dad never even knew about it and you really emailed her back and forth. You'll probably see a post from her in the "My family would flip if they knew I ______" thread in the next couple of hours.

and 10 post down ther is one for $150 and not much down from that a 120g for $350 with stand do people not look to see what they are going for?

I emailed him offering to pay for a viewing, museum style. 15 bucks, no strings attached just to see the glorious illegal beast.
