Oh so you were right not family but order. I mixed them up in the begin but Family or order is same $hit to me if it says related. Dats act like every other perch with alot of similarities and characteristics. If dats aren't nocturnal why is it most try and hide when a nice bright light is put on?

I'm not sure about that because I've seen some of them very active in bright light!

I've always thought that dats were closely related to the tripletail.They look very similar and that's partly why I've always wanted to keep one.

mine hides when the lights are on. my whole tank is dead when the lights are on. im going to begin throw food in when the lights are on.. maybe that will change things. i usually feed them in morning time when i rush to go to work n leave the off. maybe that wil change things.
