Crazy Filtration

Carefully :ROFL: ... it actually doesn't seem to be a problem for anything above the outlet... I orginally had a AC50 on this tank ... but it stopped on me a couple of times... so I figured I'd throw this on and get my fish in shape... didn't realize how much more hungry they would be since adding it though ... seems they need the calories LOL
 
Bass - why the heater for goldfish? just curious...
 
I don't see the purpose of over filtering more than 20x turnover other than just because you can do it and it looks cool. It's like having a Honda Fit with a Covette 5.7 V8 motor under the hood. I must admit this looks cool but is it necessary? IMO, I think it makes the fish stress out being pushed around by the current. Imagine you live with 50mph gust winds daily and you'll be burning up calories fast.
 
Actually so far i think that means I Win :D

I'm getting 166 Gallons per hour on a 5 gallon tank, thats 33.2 turn overs per hour

1000 gallons per hour on a 35 gallon tank is 28.57 turn overs per hour...Although I'd have to give up some style marks cause thats just looking bad *** LOL

Got it...Thanks for the opinion :D... So I guess you beleive that fish living in the wild have perfect conditions all the time... with very little to no current and should be given the stillest most calm waters possible... COMEON ... Their Feeders... they are SUPPOSED to be STRESSED :ROFL: but because this offends you I will take the filter off...maybe that would work better in your opinion :screwy:

And I don't have a Honda with a corvette 5.7 V8....it's a Feiro With a Caldilac NorthStar :ROFL:

Seriously though ... this isn't done because "it looked cool" it was done because my smaller filter needed servicing and I wanted to keep the BB alive... it's been a month since I've had the chance to service the small one though... need to get a new impeller :irked:
 
I was simply seeding my fx5 is all....
