you know i've had a handful of Midas' that do this.

My current midas does this except he's 8-9" of BULK and i'm afraid he'll "bust" the tank one day

Mine does something similar and I do the same, not turning the room lights off while leaving the tank light on. Mine prefers to attack the lid, though.
