Yeah i know... WHY?

Well here's how it goes... you know that saying "Measure once curse twice!"

Well TADA! I Set up my tank in my basement in a hurry and thought the distance from the back of the tank to the wall was the same on bot sides.

And of course i was wrong. the right side of the tank is 3/4" closer to the wall than the left (@ 4" even).

Has anyone ever attempted to "move" a already filled, plumbed, and stocked tank?

Here is what i was thinking (dont wrry ddnt d it just yet), It is a 75gal, regular steel stand, sump, feeder tank, roughly 75lbs of sand, driftwood, about 50-60lbs of rock, oh yeah and the fish @ about 6-10lbs.

(gotta put the idiot proof ones in cause ive already F$#@!$ it up once)
step 1: Turn off power
step 2: Stop flowing water
step 3: Remove sump and feeder tanks
step 4: remove 50% of the water
step 5: disassemble rock "caves"
step 6: Use car jack (ddnt check if it fit under the frame yet of course) to lift the right side of the tank slightly off the carpet/ground
step 7: Pray
step 8: NUDGE/ROLL the tank out 2"
Step 9: MEASURE
step 10: repeat steps 6-9
step 11: reassemble/setup/fill tank and enjoy

How bad can this go? Should I wear my hardhat and workboots?

i say bad idea. it's only a 75. keep half the water and the fish in a big trashcan, drain it all the way. way less stress.

Yea im afraid of that... what about removing 80% of the water. That would be about 500lbs less.

Floor jack theory fell through?

Jack is unnecessary. Remove 80% of water and any really large rocks. Tank should weigh 200lbs or less and you'll be able to easily lift an edge slightly and slide it over.

Moving the tank when full is a bad idea. I would take out at least 75% of the water.

when we re-did the floor in our fish room, I moved my 90G about 100 feet, from the fish room to the living room . . . emptied out all the water and all the fish, but left in the plants and substrate . . . put the stand up on four sliding disks and slid it all the way down the hall

can't imagine doing anything like this with water and fish still in the tank; it was scary enough as it was

sounds like a recipe for disaster, and i dont even have a big tank like that.

ya this would be a pain. just emptying the tank and keeping the water is probly WAY easier and less stressful. it could maybe be done with some strong friends though haha
