So I have these two fish.. Ones a 5" male blue labriden, and the other is a 5" (I think male) rose queen flowerhorn. They've both killed or attempted to kill anything I tried to keep them with. The blue labriden has even broken down dividers to kill other fish. I've been debating what I want to do with them since they're so aggressive so I've had them divided in a 20gallon tank for about a month. I just went and checked on them, somehow the rose queen made it through (or over) the divider and is hanging out with the blue labriden. Both of their fins are flawless and neither are showing any aggression towards one another. I just removed the divider and they're best buds now. Maybe the made friends through the divider over the last month? I'll have to watch them closely and see what happens. I just hope I don't end up with flowerhorn labriden babies LOL.

sounds ok, just watch carfully as with age they can change.

Like I said, watching closely..

good luck and keep us posted

It almost sounds like they might have some sort of seasonal mating season that makes them more aggresive.

Sounds like an old fashion way of pairing fish worked out for you...You had a divider hat allowed each fish to smell and know each others vibration....Now they have have paired.....In the case of such serious fish, I would always keep a plexi divider ready....Always have the suction cups position in the tank ready for the divider to be placed into.....
