Well price on guppies depends on your LFS? my LFS sells them for 15 for a $1.00

Quarantining & treating feeders is the way to go before feeding. Sure you can just starve them and wait for them to eat non-live and take the risk of them killing each other. This would be a better option if you only had 1, but having multiples they have to be well fed so the aggression level is at the very minimum.
One of the problems with keeping multiple ATF's is not the fact they may end up killing each other. Its the accidents that can happen. Believe me it will happen. Think of this, you spend $400.00 on a fish. Accidentally the same fish
strikes on the other hitting it's eye. Now, you have 1 blind $400.00 fish. It's value just dropped less than a quarter of it's value =-( If this is not substantial to you than cool, but to me $400.00 is a whole lot of money.

Getting all these GATF's is a thrill. It's exciting. But time will come when it will hit you and then you realize what you just got yourself into. Then like most you will need to sell it. You will never get the money you paid for not even close. Please don't take this the wrong way and think I'm trying to discourage you. You would have less of a headache just buying 1 GATF and raising it to it's full potential as best you can than to have waist your money by them killing themselves or injuring each other.

My Lfs sells $0.12ea minnow (petco), but since I go a lot, I leqarned who to ask and who not to ask. So now I get about 3 dz Minnows for about $2.50 with a petco-pals Discount

I have three ATFs as welll, not goliath though and not vivatus not sure what species... but anyway i'm ususally only free during the weekends to buy them feeders... so saturdays till probably tuesdays they will feed on feeder fishes mollies guppies and shrimps etc. and the rest of the week they are happy to just feed on chopped dead prawns. They are about 6 inches now... so... my guess is ATFs should be quite easy to wean off live food they just need time. No need to starve them now if they are still small... but you can try introducing dead prawns sometimes... just make sure you have a vaccum cleaner so if they don't take it, at least someone else does...
