I will wait a year till I add the shoal then. Are there any shoaling fish you can reccommend with asians? I was considering a motoro ray but this tank will be planted with a carpet of HC so they're out of the question.

Sorry man I live in the states, so I won't know anything about asian aros.

silver dollars?

I have successfully done so with my Pharanas. (Pardon my myspelling) They were fully grown 12", 6 of them shared a 120 with 50 neons. I didn't see any sign of aggression.

I was going to experiment with this also but my aro jumped out and killed himself.
I would suggest letting him reach 15-20", at that time, he would not want to waste his time with "bugs" LOL

GL, show us the finished setup.

if the fish is big enough, To them. They save more energy by not eating little fishes; Thus not attacking small tetras.

if you really want to do this, get your arowana over 15'' on pellets and non-live food.

once you add the tetras make sure the arowana never get hungry enough to eat them.

So you will be having just an asian aro and how many cardinals,or what about rummy noses they should be ok about ph7

Like everyone says if the aro is big enough that wont be the problem it will be its tankmates which will need to be of a certain size.

Just a note,my rtg goes for crickets like mad which are roughly the same size as a cardinal so i wouldnt risk mine but post up your updates when you do it.

Good luck.

Steve

I tried, I failed.

Though my jardini was smiling lips all the time.
