Creek bed sand in aquarium

I used to manage a pet shop we'd bleach the plastic plants to kill the algae on them.then rinse real good and soak using twice the recommended amount of prime in a five gallon bucket of water for ten minutes. Never lost fish doing that

I do it all the time in my native tanks and in tropical tanks. Just let it dry out completely the rinse really good. I have never had a problem do it this way. I have been doing it like that for over 20 years.
 
I started it havent cleaned the sand yet I did the driftwood first heres a pic of some peices

Every decolorization product I've ever used will. Just rinse well and add twice the amount recommended. Ive done it with the major brands

You think parasite medicine for fish will help clean any remaining parasites when I do the finally soak with prime

This is my tank and some pieces I did already . I had to use a turkey frier to boil the bigger peices. Lucky for me it has been used yet so I didnt have to worry about cooking oil.
