have you heard of wandering violin mantis? very unusual and somewhat communal for mantids so long as they are fed well, and yes vinegaroons are whip scorpions, they are pretty easy to keep and get somewhat sizeable (6 inches) without a nasty sting so if you are inclined they are somewhat easier to handle
