Ever seen a female all colored up? 
Mine were actually pretty easy to feed. I never got them on dry foods but almost anything frozen was snapped up.

He was shy for 1st week (not sure sex yet), but now it comes up as soon as it sees me, ready to eat dried krill. It's smallest fish in that tank and it hangs out on left side behind big piece of wood, but my adult pair of Geophagus pindare have dug out other side of the wood and female's tube is huge. I don't want to disturb them, so I will get vid soon.
