Crencichla Strigata?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've tried keeping pikes with BGK, it just doesn't work unless the ghost is close to being full grown. Their growth rate compared to the pike is too slow, the pike passes them, then well, LITERALLY passes them if ya get my drift.

Other problem may be the pictus, again the size issue. You'll be surprised by the incredible growth rate of any pike, it can be pretty impressive, but more so for the Lugubris group pikes.

Pikes are pretty much gluttons, getting them on to prepared foods is generally a matter of patience and offering the food. Having other fish in there that will readily eat the offered food though does help them feel more comfortable trying it out. Considering a vast majority of pikes are still wild caught, and all the pikes I've EVER kept have been on pellets, I'd say you shouldn't have too much of a problem getting them on other foods. :)

Why thank you for the input. The bgk is ~9" and stays in his log and pushes other out. The pictus is also ~8". So they are close to full length and the pike is supposed to be around 3". Yea patients is fine with me as long as he is healthy and growing!

Thank you again*
