Sveni have a single gold occelated eye spot on the tail. The fish has that.

The lower half of the caudal is orange, and sveni have that cincta DONT have that.

And also take note of the striations in the tail another indication its definetly not a cincta lol

On top of that body shape and tail shape is wayyyy off for a lugubris pike there's no question about it whether or not what group it belongs to... Hope I cleared some things up about them. I bought some "baby" cincta from wetspot last year. As soon as they came in I knew they weren't actually cincta. A few others here still firmly believed they were cincta despite my reasoning. I sent wetspot a email and they said they'll save a couple from their batch to see what they turn out tone when they grow up. Long story short I was right they turned out to be either lucius or anthurus most likely lucius a saxatilis pike due to the lack of spangling in the humeral blotch. Even in the pic wheni bought them they had a suspicious amount of striations in the caudal I knew I shouldn't but I decided to trust wetspot. They're good though they made it right and gave me a refund without me asking probably because I was right from the start haha
Edit: they came in at less than 0.75 inches and skinnier than a toothpick so they were tiny... it's not too hard to tell the difference even when that small though

Well thanks again for all the info. I was holding onto some hope it could be cincta lol. I also purchased from a reputable place and was concerned when I finally realized it definitely was not compressiceps. Not sure if its worth it since I don't know the price difference between compressiceps and sveni, do you think I should contact the supplier?

Yes you could contact the supplier. Compressiceps run from $20-30 and sveni from $5-25 and $45 depending on where you live. $45 is only for the very largest ones. At any equivalent size compressiceps are easily worth more. I'd say contact your dealer and see what he can do. He might not be able to do anything though since that might be what he received it as (probably the case). Good luck sveni are fun they were my first pike.
