Yeah, as to the amount of light on the tank. Really can't tell you which way to go. Natural sunlight would probably be best though, if at all possible. I suppose you could experiment between 8, 10, 12, 14 hrs of light a day. Something has to trigger them. Adding black water extract might help a little as well.
Mark (Scat) added a BUNCH of Oak leaves, which turned his water really dark with tannins. His lents have dropped their tubes, so its possible we may see some young from him. That might be a key. He also has low pH and soft water. Think he feeds live foods as well.
