Crenicichla Ihavanocolus

I have been keeping a pike for about 3 weeks now, Johanna, and boy do they change colors. They change colors about as fast as an octopus. And they also grow really fast as well, mine has grown about 1-1.25 inches in 3 weeks. I also know now, that it is very difficult to get an accurate ID on some species until they get older. But so far, my pike is definately top fish freshwater wise.

They were actually the Star Pikes. I'm not 100% sure I had an auction up for them. I've ordered both and it's hard to see the subtle differences yet. The green is probably lucius and the stars Proteus...

Thanks for the help I really appreciate it.

Yeah, theres a whole group they call the spangled pikes (all Saxatilis-group pikes might get called spangled pikes??) and there are a few that are pretty close to the same. Well I'll keep my eye out for some more of your auctions.
