Hello all,

Well i am going to have to start getting feeder insects now because of the beardie i have and also for the monitors i will be getting and im trying to decide which feeder insects i want to go with.

before i go any further.. I CANT USE ROACHES!

Ive been looking around and im wondering if there are better choices instad of crickets. ive been looking into silkworms. could these be used in place of crickets? they are about the same amount price wise if i buy them as eggs. i can get 5,000 eggs for around $34. they also get larger so in the long run i could feed less worms than crickets. and they dont get the smell.

so im wondering if it would be worth going with silkworms over crickets? any other ideas?
if need be ill just start buying crickets 2000 at a time.

If you get silk worms what do you plan on feeding them? I know they like to eat Mulberry leaves which are easy to find in the summer but what do you do for the other months?

And why can't you start a colony of roaches? I just had to ask. :D

I have raised beardies on nothing but just superworms and veggies.. I just recently started with crickets for babies, and juvies. But all sub adults-adults are fed on superworms. I do have roaches, but my colony of dubias and lobsters have yet to really take off.

We use silkworms and hornworms as treats...
I havent tried raising silkworms from eggs, although its crossed my mind.

just use pinky and fuzzie mice for the monitors and get them 100 cricks a week for ruf***e... beardie will be fine on worms.

Being from England uk using ones cricket team to feed your fish would be most uncivilised dont you know what what .
