thanks everybody.i saw the gel stuff there but figured i could get away with feeding them veggies and cat food and such.i am buying the tiniest ones they have.i got a 10 gallon today for them to call home.i would love it if they would breed so i guess ill try to make it a little cricket paradise.for water could i fill up a small dish and then use one of those sponges intended for hermit crabs?i get my crickets from petco.im not sure where else to check,i know walmart has them.

One thing everyone forgot to mention is, crickets are cannabalistic, if you dont give them a way to hide from each other, they'll eat each other if theres no food.

I buy 2 dozen crickets once a week, adult ones from the lfs.

I keep them in a plastic container, the ones from the petshop that are blue-ish and sell them for betta kits or w/e

I feed them chopped up lettuce and/or carrots ever other day or so.

they dont drink water the way we do. Crickets dont drink period.

they get moisture through their food, so veggies like carrots and celery are best, vascular veggies that have a lot of water content.

I also spray the egg carton with water so when they chew it, they get some moisture.
