Can i feed em alive?
Yes, alive is good, the kicking motion attracts fish strikes. If you buy many at a time they are easy to keep and breed in an old leaky 20g in your garage. You can also gutload feed them with high protien foods and vitamins and mineral supplements for your fish. They are healthier than goldfish and if you match the crickets size to your fish they will be taken by almost everything, even picky eaters.

My aro eats cricks (and superworms). Its a damn lot better diet that live fish which is 90% of what most people seem to feed them.

cricket is a good supplemental diet for carnivorous fish . Gut load it first for maximum nutrients. I would also take the hind legs because may aros mostly spit it out and the legs would just float in the tank. They look like roaches legs!

There are several sites online that sell thousand cricket lots very cheap and if you feed that many per week will set up a delivery schedule for you. There are also several good phamplets available about how to keep and raise crickets. I still am a proponent of a varied diet for fish.

All my big guys like crickets. I've not had problems with leftover parts. I've had problems with crickets running away......

How about grass hoppers? Would they be the same? My kids catch them all the time.
