Looks very much like a Sumo Loach. Size listed is max 4". Feed like other Schistura species, bloodworms, flakes, and small pellets are a good start. I would say go with a 20 gallon tank for swimming space. Probably not territorial, my Sumo's aren't. Very beautiful fish!

i have nodiced at the pet store one has gone jet black and stays out in the center while the others are off to the sides and they dont mix well with gouramis or guppys would that change with hiding places?

What do you mean they don't mix well? Are the loaches chasing the other fish?
