Hey guys, this is my first attempt at an iwagumi style scape the plan is to grow an HC carpet w/co2 injection. just like the title says, give me your critique!
that rock in the front has to go. and generally, i dont think those rocks will do well in this scape. can you find anything that has more shape to it, other than these roundish rocks?
i think the rocks need to be taller. and also remove the 1 at the front.... nice to see some body else try this i tryed it afew months back but it was a fail lol.. hope yours turns out okayy .
Looks like you have 4 pcs of rock... I think you should have only 3 pcs. of rock. In japanese, don't want even numbers... means complete/death... no more growth. In chinese... 4 means death. Next time you are at the zen garden.... all the rocks are in odd numbers, groups of 3 is the most common arrangement.
paint your background black or white. Move the rocks to create canyon style arrangement with high gravel on either side. remove the center rock, and thats really it. perhaps add some small rocks to the base of your main rocks to give plants something to grow in between.
I agree with j1... the rock in the center needs to go. I like the rocks you have, however. I think it will be very nice to see something thats not driftwood and gravel/sand in a planted tank.
thank you all for your opinions...i truly value your thoughts and recommendations. Here's my slightly modified scape. I took away a rock and added a bigger and "better" one. Tell me what you guys think!
So, i took everyone's recommendation and proceeded as follows...i think this is how i want it unless someone gives me another breakthough idea. I'm gonna add more flourite to slope from front to back and "lock" in the stones. Then plant with HC. Give me your takes on this!!!!
