Thats the best video.....Looks like somethings going on....Congrat's if so.....Would love to see what the babies turn out like.

thats totally kiuckass

Here is one just after the eggs were laid. It seems like he is giving her a few moments to rest and look over the mass. Just after this film he pushed he away and took over the faning. She circled and when she got to close he really hurt her fast. She was still feeling sentimental and he bipolored and tried to kill her. In the time from me seeing the first bite to grab the net and open the tank he totally destroyed her unilateral fin and did some grose job on her ovipositer. She spent the night and all today in the 120 in my room where i could watch over her. The tank only has four gars in it, all fat, all lazy. This morning all of them were lying on the bottom but they were fine she's had a ruff day but her serogates are taking good care of her and she ate tonight. I really do mean it when I say it takes a special kinda person to spend eight hours a day with a fish. I was by her side during the entire seven plus hour mating http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jq91WTbjAM Sorry about the side ways part, I was trying to get close and fit them both in. Not a simple task with a digital camera.

Thats great, the CKs look great aswell, the fan in the background is really annoying though.

The fan is the exhaust in my animal room. I was so amazed and exited I didn't even think about sound on the video. I have spoken with more than one zoological park about this and I have come to realazation. This may be wrong but alot of opinions are that this may be one of, if not the only time this has been filmed. Ever. A blending of the species.

That's awesome! What's the water parameters? I take it they don't breed for life with one another.

Parameters are: PH 6.4-6.7
temp 84
nitrogen levels all about 0 ppm
amount of luck involved.................Measureless!

The best vid I took. Watch it close. If you have ever seen a clown or owned one you'll appreciate what they are doing. It's like they aren't even the same animals.

I hear they're very cichlid-like when it comes to breeding.
