cross breeding?

Any mouth brooder could hybridize. Even with good male to female ratios it could happen. If your looking to make money from breeding, its best to setup species only tank so you know for sure your stock is pure.

Who refers to them as wild hybrids? Wild Hybrids are hybrids that occur naturally in the wild. I have not know labs and cobalts to be noted as natural hybrid

I was saying that some books I have read state that the p. socolofi is a "wild Hybrid". Hybridized by breeders and then place back in the lake at an easy to access location, so they can be collected and sold as wild caught. I don't think that the p. socolofi is a hybrid of a lab and cobalt either, just thought it was curious that mine turned out looking like one.

I just had a yellow lab breed with a snow white socolofi . ive got the fry in a 10 gal, very curious to what they are going to look like. I think it would be cool if some of them had sort of a transition yellow fading into white color pattern. So its definitely a possibility of yours breeding with the cobalt

this is interesting. If i had more tanks i might try to get some interesting hybrids for my self. Hybrids are sterile though right?

My Yellow lab F has had her eggs ferted by Auratus - Johannii - Exasperatus fortunately or unfortunately the fry are eaten by my Bichirs. Once she lays eggs it's open season for any of the mbuna males. I have caught and raised some fry for feeders most do look like the Lab and most are albino to an extent. 2 of her fry were raised to adulthood - an albino which lives in my friends Mbuna tank and an Electric Blue & Yellow thats here with me.
