Cross your fingers.. Dovii pair ;)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Morning update.. She's still alive!!! :D

She's also still free swimming over with him on his side. I've never had a fish survive more then 5 minutes with him without being forced to hide where he can't reach it.

It definitely looks like I have a pair, now to just sit back and wait on the Dovii stork :D

congratz so far, you wanna keep the divider in there though, if i was you id watch them for the first few batchs, see how his is too her. after maybe 3 spawns you could remove the divider, by then they should be a good pair.

id put the tail whipping down to courting mate, they may also lip lock and bite each others sides as they may wanna test each other before breeding. i dont need to tell you all this though, i know you already know it :D

get some more close ups of both fish

Her fins are a little tattered but she is doing fine. I guess he's just rough with his women :D

Here are some pics for you.. I know you know what the male looks like but here are some anyway..

The Female..

The Male ;)

Congrats Mudfrog. If all else fails, try lighting some candles and playing some slow music :naughty: lol. When ever the male that I just ordered from Rapps gets big enough, I will put him with my female. Right now he is only around 4" , and she is around 6.5". Good luck and keep us posted.

Mud... I use the same divider method with my RTM's and have been super successful with it! Periodically he gets aggro and she flees to her side of the tank but the divider is siliconed in place and has been the last 9 months! Nice tank setup bud... but I'm sure you know you'll have to do something with the overflows when they start to spawn and the eggs hatch.

Looking good! I find it amazing how different the males/females look compared to each other.

The look like different species.

Nice pair, I wish that my male was the one delivering the beatings. My female is about 12" and hes only 10, she beats the hell out of him all the time. I think that I might try finding a smaller female, like the one you have :) anyways, good luck :)
