Set up a new tank over the weekend...long story short, I now have a mature 120 (4x2) freed up.

Been keeping peaceful SAs but always loved GT....so, there will be two WC adults in the tank, one male, one female. Hope they'd pair..

My question is - can I keep anything else in there?

- Thinking about a female festae but she's probably going to kill both of my GTs...right?
- A pike maybe?
- Any other SA cichlids I can keep with the GTs? Preferably something colorful...

The problem with a pair in a 120 is that they'll be more aggressive than normal. You need something semi large but not too nasty. Just enough to hold its own really. Does it have to be SA? Vieja i think may work well.

Very true. The 4x2 footprint is also a limitation - easier to turn around but not much room to run/hide.

I'd love to try Vieja. Will they be too big for the tank? And which ones would do better with GTs?

Hi Peter.. Well he's not a geo but... he's beautiful looking:drool: what a great deal.. Set up another tank huh:ROFL::ROFL: at some point you are gonna run out of room I think... Seriously.. good luck with the new ones and lets see pics in the tank and hopefully down the line of fry:popcorn::popcorn: Sue:D

Individual fish personalities vary but I wouldn't see a problem with a pair of GTs in a 120.

I've bred many a 8"+ pair in a 55g.

Add the female first if possible and give each of them their own caves / PVC.

Thanks guys! I guess one thing at a time.....a single fish, then a pair, then tank mates...

escondido jumped a couple of weeks ago. :(:(:( A very sad day. He's too small to hang with the GT anyway ...
