crossing into the dark side of the force...help!

That sucks. Very sorry to here that Peter. If he was anything like mine he would have had no issues hanging with the GT you are getting.

If you mainly want a GT pair then I would just worry about getting a compatable m/f for now. After that you can try some tankmates and just see how it goes. Maybe a couple polypterus or something. I've had good luck so far with a geo red bahia in with my escondido pair and it is also good at keeping the bottom clean.

Peter you're going to have problems keeping anything with that guy, even a female, good luck, hard to pair up a large adult fish, that's why I use dividers for my breeding pairs. Good luck, I'll buy their fry. Ken

Excellent point. Will try to get a comparable pair first.

Thanks for the heads up Ken.

Would it be better if I "offer" more than one adult female at the same time? Likely more drama but would there be a higher probability of success?

Or maybe I should just get a large CA from you to hang with it, like a zonatum?

Finding females big enough will be a challenge. Zonatum may work, problem with only a few large fish is aggression, you may have noticed I either crowd them or use dividers. Ken

I agree. You could always just get a nice Syno cat and leave it at that.
