Houston..... We have eggs! As i was watching the tank tonight, specifically this pair, i noticed her swim by a low lying rock really close and touch her tube to the rock. But the i saw this little egg drop out. Ahhhhhh!!! Then to my surprise i noticed the bigger rock behind had tons of eggs on it. She is laying like crazy! She proceeded to lay several more. We'll see if the midas dose his part. How will i know if he does? What should i look for in the eggs in days to come and time frame of hatch? I took some photos and a quick video that ill try and post in the next day or two. Thanks a ton!

White = dead eggs
Brown/tan = live eggs, if its their first spawn they may just eat them either way

Well... woke up this morning and looked in the tank.... Couldnt hardly find an egg to be seen. Someone had eggs for breakfast. You were right. This would have been their first spawn. I guess when you're making babies you dont always nail it your first try.

I have heard sometimes plecos are to blame for this. I do have a few small clown and bushy nose in there. Another question, does one have to worry about much filtration in the tank messing with the fry or eggs should this go down again? And how soon do fish often relay eggs after the previous attempt?

looking at your stock any of your catfish could have done it. if they do have a successful spawn have a tank ready with a sponge filter. usually what people use for rearing tanks. usually the fry can stay with their parents for a bit but usually need to be removed to assure the highest survival rate.

That is what i was thinking. Dont know if i could even just cover the other filter intakes with some foam too and that may help. I do have a spare tank available with a sponge filter but dont have a sponge filter big enough for the 125 yet. On the to do list. Thanks man!
