CRUD TANK PARTIALLY UPDATED, QUESTIONS AND A FEW PICS

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Knifegill, you sound just like the judges!:grinno: They are always asking about leaves. After the leech episode with 2 turtles from the same lake, I said no. I guess, I can get the leaves and soak them in saltwater, then use them. Saltwater kills leeches on contact. Thanks for the suggestion! ;)

Also Knifegill, you have quite the collection!!!!! Even down to the male wolf spider to the the beautiful slugs!!!

Oh, that's easy! Gather fallen maple leaves (find solid, thick ones) and gently bake them. Then give them a rinse, maybe a pre-soak and you're good to go. I've got them in four tanks and my catfish LOVE them.

Yes a 300 would be GREAT!!!! Business is very slow for me right now, so the 300 I wanted will have to wait. I have some time(maybe 2 months max) largest blue gill is 3 inches, smallest is the green sunfish at 2 1/2 inches. The catfish is the largest at 12 inches. I could probably wait longer for the 300 but I want more room and more fish.

Love the look. I set up a 55 same style . Its cycling now and no substrate but going to Glades this weekend to collect the lake type white sand . I plan on local little canal cichlids.

I think you tank looks fine without plants but you could always attach jave fern or moss to the wood .
