I am very interested in hearing everyones opinion on feeding fish to P's in an aquarium. I am not talking about feeders. These are raised as food and nothing more. I am talking about putting Aro's and Green Terrors in Tanks with P's just to film their death. I bring this up because it seems like there are alot more videos on you tube now that shows this. This is not for feeding purposes in any way shape or form this is for pure enjoyment. I know there are lot of people on here that are very passionate about their fish and then there are moorons one here that find pleasure in doing this bull****. I understand that in the wild it plays out like this and it is survival of the fittest. Nature must take it's course in the Wild. In an aquarium this is bull****. There is no survival of the fittest in an aquarium when it comes to a Aro and a pack of P's. Idiots like this are one reason why alot of states ban them.

Anyways I just wanted to know who approves odf this and who dosen't.

on the one hand, i think as you are talking about basically feeding WC fish to Ps, this is absolutely pointless and a waste of a fish. Then again, iyou could argue if they weren't fed to P's then they'd still just sit in your tank until they die, and so there is no point.

So I suppose then for WC, and for CB, it is a moral thing, and personally i'm not for it.

If you feed any type feeder fish for the "sport" or the for the "enjoyment" of watching the destruction of the fish...IMO it is wrong. The death of the feeder should be as quick and painless as possible. I have and do use feeder fish, convict and firemouth fry are fed to everything from my tire track eel to loaches to discus. I do beleive there is some nutritional value, but mostly it is done for population control.

I am definitely against feeding fish other than feeders to P's or other aggressive fish just for sport or entertainment or whatever. But I don't think it's wrong that when my P's get fed feeders I enjoy watching them "hunt" their food and eat it. I think it is a very interesting part of nature that I can enjoy in my own home.

As for throwing fish/mice and all sorts of other critters in the tank, with probably underfed P's, I think it is irresponsible and gives p keepers a bad image.

Hey N-E- Cichlids....i saw these videos youre talking about, the same asian kid filming them...........i was FURIOUS and still am when i watched that nice GT get chewed up and continue to swim around.Saw the Aro' get mauled bad too.I left a comment on that vid,my name there is Daniel Dumile.I would give that kid a Backbreaker on top of a fire hydrant if i saw him.......lil punk:irked: :irked:

Here is the You Tube Video that has Pissed me off. This ******* needs to be taken to South America and dropped in the rivers. On top of it he is promoting a website. The owners of that website should be proud of the doumb asses who promote them.

Ya know these guys post on youtube to see how many veiws they can get so linking to the video is just helping his cause. If this really disturbes you as it should all responsable fishkeepers, Utube should be contacted. Can you imagine that video being allowed if all MFK member were to contact Utube about it.

I'm sure this video violates some guidelines http://www.youtube.com/t/community_guidelines

IMO, if some idiot wans to waist the cost of an expensive fish like an arrow, i suppose its there business, no one in there right mind would do it, I know I wouldn't. Its just stupid. But it is their fish, thus making it their choice. By the way, I don't believe it is people like that that are the reason they are banned, Its more from them getting loose in the wild. But if you think about it, in the eyes of the fish, does the arrow think its worth anymore than a feeder goldfish? they are both animals. And in that respect they are equal. Just my thoughts.

This may be true, but the goldfish dies in seconds, the arowana had to suffer for 20 minutes before it finally died. So how is that equal?

I just went and watch the video, and yeah you are right, it is cruel. I didn't know the fish were alive for that long while being torn apart. in the wild the gt(didnt see the arrow video) could have gotten away. its a shame, that was a beautiful gt.
