Thanks, I may try some beef heart as well.

I would skip the beef heart imho

I forgot to mention that you should also try different veggies also

Sometimes it takes a few tries.....sometimes never. Try some dandelions (be certain its from an area that you know for sure doesn't get chemical treatments of any kind)

we would expect a captive bred oscar to be a foot, i would imagine wild oscars would attain various max sizes in different areas depending on how its evolved there... just a guess tbh but possible none the less... the lfs oscar has been bred for decades no doubt with the 'pick of the litter' fish (largest and most colourful) from the batch getting bought up or kept for breeding.

Yea, I'm not going to lose too much sleep over his length. He is a healthy little guy, certainly not skinny by any means. I may introduce some new food items into his diet and see how he looks in a month or so.

Nailman I think your o looks great... I read some where that crassipriniss (prob spelled wrong) get a little smaller than reg O''s though they are rare you never know
I just got an oscar and he is black and yellow. He has no red. Did yours look like this when you got him? Or did he always have the red towards the tail

Where did you get your oscar from post a pic. Oscars go through color morphs as they mature.

great looking guy, i would not change up his feeding, pellets best thing for him, vegies if he will eat them but I would not up the protein. Oscars are omnivores, to much protein not good for him. and will add to his bio load.
