crushed coral in a 55

I have about 25 lbs of live rock that I removed from a saltwater in my 55, for the exact same problem. This took about 1 week but has my pH locked at 7.8 using pure R/O water, however after i stopped using R/O and went to tap, I got a temporary spike of 8.4 when i did a large water change.
