crushed coral?

i guess if i keep up with WC and all i should be fine without much buffer. the water is indeed very hard (leaves calcium deposits on everything!!!!) and the PH from tap will do i suppose. cant be much worse than the 6.0 they had at the lfs!!!!!!

I would not bother putting them in the filter thats valuable space for purigen or filter floss. I would spread it among the substrate.

for some reason I was thinking you had a low ph,,yeah if is maxing out your ph test kit it probably wouldnt be a big deal to put some shells or coral in the tank. Like stated earlier, I would keep it out of the filter though. I hate crushed coral as a substrate, it gets really nasty.

I already have pea gravel in there, and i don't really wanna buy crushed coral substrate if i dont need to. the pea gravel looks nicer to me too
