Cutteri are one of my favorite mid-sized cichlids. Their color changing ability and parental care are amazing.

I know Rapps is selling some from a differnt location if anyone has cutteri from other locations please post them.

I wouldn't go less than a 3 foot 30g or maybe a 29g... especially as they mature.

The male of my pair is pushing 5+" and when he wants to breed, the much smaller female(s) need to watch out...

Matt

My F1 pair were in a 52 and the male killed the female after the 3-4 spawn. I pulled the male and gave to a friend as I was afraid he would eat the fry at that point. The tank had lots of wood and hiding places (much more than you can see in the video). They pair bond is stronger with competition fish in the tank. All of the picture's in this thread, other than the ones with fry, are F2 from the last spawn. I kept 9, but I'm starting to thin them out.

wow...didn't know the males are so rough on the females. Thanks for the info guys.

lovely. I just setup a 29g for a planted tank. I have my sites set on dwarf cichlids. I've been so impressed with archocentrus, and austaloheros cichlids that I'm tempted to put some in there. Did these come from Matt's stock?

I got them from Ken Davis. I believe Matt did too but not 100% sure. I have an extra pair that would love a quite tank to breed in if your interested, male is about 4" and female 3". They don't get enough peace in mine.
