I have a retired pair of Cryptoheros cutteri who reside in 150g. They haven’t spawned in years so I went looking for some more stock and came across Ken Davis selling a pair on AquaBid without stripes? I’ve had them on/off for decades and never came across one like this, has anyone else? Below are mine out to pasture but the pair puts loads of babies into the area here.

This is the link to AquaBid and the picture of his male.

Looks a lot like Amatitlania septemfasciata on the first impression, but the blue horizontal stripe clearly indicates Cryptoheros cutteri. If you look closely you can still see some fainted black bars. The shape of the mouth also looks more like cutteri.

One of the most annoying fish in Honduras…seems like they were always in the net
What places did you net for fish? My wife is from La Ceiba and we built a home there not too long ago. I thought about putting an aquarium in the house and netting in the Cangrejal river for stock.

I stood in la ceiba, i collected in the mongo, danto, jutiapa and some other areas i can’t remember but those 3 rivers were full of cutteri..

Scrolling through the “Cryptoheros cutteri” thread on Monster Fish Keepers, it's clear there's strong appreciation for this hardy and colorful cichlid. Members share tank setups, compatibility advice, and breeding tips, especially noting the species’ resilience and personality. That attention to balanced conditions mirrors how we manage our own routines. A tool like Wellness‑App (https://wellness-app.com/), with fasting and fitness tracking, offers a structured way to monitor health habits and energy levels - much like maintaining optimal water parameters to keep fish thriving.
