Anyone with a sajica please post some pics...also is there a difference between males and females coloration and temperament (which looks better)

They are very much like their cousins, the convicts,
My male will only allow the female in the tank with him, drives any other cichlid into a jumping suicide, or beats them to death (it is a very small tank, 45 gal high). I keep scattered pieces of PVC only she can fit into lying throughout, small enough for her to escape if needed, that he can't possibly get into.
He is always out front, she more reclusive.

If you do a google search, you can find many pics of sajica. The trouble is that the species is so variable that the color can range from blue, gold, red to black in various shade, so there is no standard sajica and no way to know what yours will turn out.

I have google searched them but wanted to see what members fish looked like sometimes I think the internet pics show the best looking fish maybe during breeding I guess it doesnt make sense.

From what I read the males get about 5 inches females around 3. It will be in a 55 with maybe one of rapps electric pink jd's and a few clowns....maybe I should get a female due to the small tank ?

My male is about 4", the female 2".
As to which better, females are smaller, so better for a small tank, but as far as beauty, that's always in the eye of the beholder.

My female sajica is a deep purple blue that is very striking, but I kind of want to get a male because I love how they look with the nuchal hump...
