Ctenopoma Acutirostre (leopard bushfish) and Green Terror

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Like others say, really depends on your individual GT. Some owned by members here are big puppy dogs and get along with everything. Others like the wild caught one I had wants to attack everything.

Only 4in long and attacked everything else in the tank till I had to rehome him.

Did the WC one flare at you? I got a white saum in Feb, and the bugger challenged my kelberi (11.5") when he was (6.5") last month. It didn't care if the kel wrapped its mouth around its head during aggression, and was relentless. It would flare at me, so it has some major balls to it.

I have the same out look as the others on the capability of the two fish with a couple of changes.
1 ctenopoma can and will fight back. If you look at them closely they have quite a good arsenal.
2 ctenopoma don't get along well together usually, they can and will kill each other. They are quite aggressive especially when challenged.

It's one of my favorite fish. I have a large male he's about 6".

1) So you think they can defend themselves if the GT turns out to be a bullie?

2) And, do you think it's a bad idea getting 4-5 Ctenopomas in the same tank? (400 liters)

I just thought they maybe would form a pair, if I got the things right in the tank :)

My ctenopoma killed my albino hecklli I was to late in realizing it was as bad as it was. My hecklli was the aggressor. Defend against a gt....? Not sure I would chance it myself if others had told me it could/would be an issue. I have tried to introduce more ctenopoma and have had my original one go after the new ones even in a 300g pond. I've seen a few threads here, and in youtube that have also had issues putting multiple together even if they are together from the start. I absolutely love my ctenopoma his colors are great. I can't wait to get him back in a tank I can see him better in.
