So a friend of mine went to FT. Lauderdale and found a cudan anole who fell out of a tree because it was so cold... So he figured I'd like it and brought him home to me. I felt bad put him in a 20g with a heat lamp and some branches. Needless to say he came back to life and now I have no idea what to do with him... What do you guys think? Do they make cool pets? Should I just have my friend take the little dude back to Ft. Lauderdale and let him go??

Nothing like a big Green Anole the size of your arm floating around.......But, it'll either live or die.........They eat Brown Anoles almost exclusively, and some never get the concept of eating bugs......Easy to keep though, just let it bite you once, and you'll respect it even more.......

I think you are thinking of a knight anole, cuban anoles stay the same size as the greens and mainly eat bugs. I would not release it into the wild under any circumstances though since it is an invasive. You can either keep it as a pet, feed it to your fish or other reptiles, or put it in the freezer. These guys are really bad for the native green anoles because they are constantly out competing and taking over territory.

Knight anoles are from Cuba??????

And, in the areas they're at, the Green Anoles have been gone for years.........The Browns pushed them out a long while ago........And now the Browns and the Cubans seem to go hand in hand anymore........The Browns will never disappear, and the Cubans will always have a constant food source, so both are here to stay.........

you're right sorry, I have just always referred to Brown anoles as cubans and the Cuban Knight anoles as just knight anoles. Just another reason that I am trying to learn the Latin names... sorry I didn't mean to knock ya Eric.

Brown Anoles = Anolis Sagrei

Knight/Cuban Anoles = Anolis Equestris

The Brown Anoles are Bahamian in origin, though South Florida has its share of other introduced Anolis from the Caribbean which are commonly mistaken for Brown Anoles

The Green Anoles will always have a future above the frost line, and if you clear the Browns out, the Greens always come back........But, the Browns always come back too, and we only have ourselves to blame for it......

HAHA! anole its so wrong if u say it rite...

No I don't think its a brown anole, its about as big as my arm bright green, with two yellow stripes and a blue crest on its neck. Its definitely a Cuban knight. So what do you guy think?? Should I try to keep him, and try to feed him the brown anoles? You don't they accept crickets or worms? And If I kept him what sized cage would be ideal?

HAHAH! brown anole leave it me to take it wrong...
