I have an extreme interest in Cuban cichlids and I wonder what kind of setup I need and decor and food and tankmates, I plan to have him in a 75 gallon aquarium, any posts appreciated! Thanks

In anything under say, a 6ft 150 gallon tank, I doubt whether you could have tank mates.
Cuban cichlids will try to eat anything 1/3 their size, even other cichlids, and if they cannot eat it they will fight with it. Even when young.
My pair had a 6ft 150 gal tank to themselves, after they beat other cichlids so bad they had to be removed to save their lives.
Some other type fish that they don't see as competition maybe.
They are the only cichlid native to their area in Cuba, so take your cue from that.

A friend of mine was able to house a pair in a 220 gal with other cichlids, and loaches to large to be eaten for a while, whether it worked put as they hit max size, I don't know.

So despite the name of this thread are Grammodes and Red Devils that same way? Thanks, also what do you prefer over these three cichlids?

If you mean are grammodes aggressive? Yes they can be hyper aggressive, and tend too be loners. In nature they may also hide a majority of the time and are lurk and strike predators, that remain under cover until a prey item passes, then hit, lightning fast, and go back to their cave, or selected spot.
Mine were usually only out and about, when guarding a school of fry.
This attitude can can be changed if time is spent acclimating them from a young age to your presence.
They, or Cubans may or may not bother plecos, it seems to be an individual personality thing .
My male Cuban, topped off around 10", and the female 6". Before I gave them away, they spawned at least 3 times, which at times, slows growth (especially in females) due to energy transference from growth, to eggs and fry.

this fish is on my wish list. i was gonna try to keep a lone cuban in a 75 as soon as i had a vacancy (right now im overbooked).

for any central american cichlid, the only tankmates ive had luck with are armored catfish like raphaels. i keep one with my red devil, who slaughters anything else as soon as it hits the water. im trying out a couple of larger pictus cats with my flowerhorn right now. bottom feeders are your best bet.
