The height isn't the issue with a 75 gsllon, it's that it's only 4' long. I'd recommend something larger for an adult male

I believe a 6 ft tank is probably the shortest tank to put a male motaguense in , normally that would mean a 100 gal + long, minimally a 125, or 150. But even in that size tank, any tank mates would be limited.
To some cichlid keepers that may seem overkill, but to many serious Parachromis keepers I know, any tank under 200 gallons may seem less than realistic.
Just as before, I bought about half dozen juves and grew them out in a 75 gal until they reached 3-4", and at that point the male killed any subordinates, all, but the female he spawned with, after moving to a 6ft tank. I believe I waited too long in moving them, probably why most were killed. I had also used some large tetras as dithers, but they were also shredded.
Female might be OK in a 90.
male below, approx 12"

female @ 6"

I have an extreme interest in Cuban cichlids and I wonder what kind of setup I need and decor and food and tankmates, I plan to have him in a 75 gallon aquarium, any posts appreciated! Thanks
They are closely related to the Haitian Cichlid, Nandopsis hatienses.
They are often found in estuaries, but I’m not sure if they venture into full marine conditions.
I’ve heard that they are particularly sensitive to cold stress.

I would love to have a Haitian cichlid but I don’t have the space, are Cubans as aggressive?

I would imagine that they are very similar in aggression level.
If you look at the distribution map below

There is a very narrow strait between Cuba and Haiti. When you consider that they are both fairly salt tolerant, it would not surprise me if there is occasional migration of these cichlids back and forth between Cuba and Haiti.
